8
(1)

The sum for which judgment is entered under rule 3(2) or 6(1) may include interest down to the date of the issue of the summons or, where it is claimed at the same rate in respect of the period down to judgment, to the date of the request for entry of judgment, provided that—

(2)

Where, in accordance with paragraph (1), the plaintiff requests the entry of judgment for interest in respect of a period subsequent to issue, he shall enter such interest on the appropriate form of request as an additional item, with particulars of the amount, rate and period.

(3)

Save as provided by paragraph (1), where a judgment is sought under rule 3(2) or 6(1) in respect of a claim which includes a claim for interest, and the plaintiff so requests, the judgment shall, as regards the interest, be an interlocutory judgment for interest to be assessed.”
