# The Countryside Access Regulations 1994, Regulation 4: Requirements in relation to the access area

Extent: E+W

The access area shall be a continuous area of land consisting of—
(a) a strip or strips of land 10 metres wide (“access route”);
(b) a whole field or whole fields;
(c) a part of a field or parts of fields; or
(d) any combination of (a) to (c) above.
