  "text": "(1) The Sexual Offences Act 2003 is amended as follows.\n(2) In the section 96A inserted by section 80 of the Police, Public Order and Criminal Justice (Scotland) Act 2006 (police powers of entry to and examination of relevant offender’s home address)—\n(a) in subsection (1), for “a senior” substitute “an appropriate”;\n(b) in subsection (11)—\n(i) after “section—” insert—\n““appropriate police officer”, in relation to an application for a warrant under subsection (1), means a constable of the Police Service of Scotland authorised to make the application by a constable of the Police Service of Scotland who is of the rank of inspector or above;”;\n(ii) omit the definition of “senior police officer”.\n(3) In section 96B (power of entry and search of relevant offender’s home address)—\n(a) in subsection (1), for “a senior” substitute “an appropriate”;\n(b) in subsection (10)—\n(i) before the definition of “the relevant force” insert—\n““appropriate police officer”, in relation to an application for a warrant under subsection (1), means a constable authorised to make the application by a constable of the rank of inspector or above;”;\n(ii) omit the definition of “senior police officer”.",
