  "text": "In section 56 (examination of facts: supplementary provisions)—\n(a) in subsection (1)—\n(i) after “diet” in the first place where it occurs insert “ or, in proceedings on indictment, at the first diet (in the case of proceedings in the sheriff court) or the preliminary hearing (in the case of proceedings in the High Court) ”,\n(ii) after “diet” in the second place where it occurs insert “ , first diet or, as the case may be, preliminary hearing ”,\n(b) subsection (2) is repealed.",
