# The Crown Court (Amendment) Rules 1988, Introduction: Introductory text

Coming into force 1st August 1988
We, the Crown Court Rule Committee, in exercise of the powers conferred upon us by sections 84(1) and (2) and 86 of the Supreme Court Act 1981, section 32C of the Children and Young Persons Act 1969 and section 4 of the Children and Young Persons (Amendment) Act 1986, hereby make the following Rules:—
