  "text": "(1) In this Act, “pupil referral unit” has the meaning given by section 19A(2) of the Education Act 1996 (c. 56) (exceptional provision of education in pupil referral units or elsewhere: Wales).\n(2) In this Act—\n(a) the local authority, in relation to a pupil referral unit, means the local authority that maintains the unit, and\n(b) the management committee, in relation to a pupil referral unit, means the committee (if there is one) established to act as the management committee for the unit under regulations made under Schedule 1 to the Education Act 1996.",
