# The Dartford–Thurrock Crossing Tolls Order 1997, Introduction: Introductory text

Made 1st August 1997
Coming into force 1st September 1997
The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the power conferred by subsection (4) of section 17 of the Dartford–Thurrock Crossing Act 1988 and within the period of seven days next following 1st August 1997, which is the next revision date for the purposes of that subsection, as defined by subsection (3) of the said section 17, hereby makes the following Order:
