# The Data Protection Tribunal (National Security Appeals) (Telecommunications) Rules 2000, Introduction: Introductory text

Laid before Parliament 13th March 2000
Coming into force 5th April 2000
The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 67(2) of, and paragraph 7 of Schedule 6 to, the Data Protection Act 1998 as applied by regulation 32(8)(a) and (c) of the Telecommunications (Data Protection and Privacy) Regulations 1999, hereby makes the following Rules:–
