Article 2 Citation, commencement and interpretation

In this Order:

  • “the Barnsley council” means the Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council, “the Doncaster council” means the Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council, “the Rotherham council” means the Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council, and “the councils” means those three councils;

  • “the maps” means the six maps prepared in quadruplicate, numbered, marked “Maps referred to in the Dearne Valley Enterprise Zones (Designation) Order 1995”, and signed by an Under Secretary in the Department of the Environment (one set of which has been deposited and is available for inspection at the principal offices of each of the councils, and the other at the offices of the Secretary of State for the Environment), and any reference to a map by number is a reference to the map so numbered; and

  • any reference to boundaries shown on a map is a reference to boundaries which are represented by the outside edge of a black line edged internally with a stippled band on that map.
