# Deep Sea Mining (Exploration Licences) Regulations 1984, Paragraph 3: Period of the licence


This licence unless sooner determined under any of the provisions hereof shall be and continue in force for a period of ten years from 3rd September 1984 but may, if the Secretary of State sees fit and the Licensee has at least three months before the expiry of the said period made a written request for its extension, be continued for a further period of five years and at the expiry of any such further period the same provision shall apply.
