# Defective Premises Act (Northern Ireland) 2024, Section 3: Defective premises: transfer of functions

Extent: N.I.

(1) The functions which immediately before the coming into operation of this section are exercisable by the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs under or for the purposes of the Defective Premises (Northern Ireland) Order 1975 are transferred to the Department for Communities.
(2) Accordingly, in Article 2(2) of that Order for the definition of “the Department” substitute—
““the Department” means the Department for Communities;”.
