  "heading": "The Goods Vehicles (Plating and Testing) Regulations 1988",
  "text": "(1) The Goods Vehicles (Plating and Testing) Regulations 1988 are amended as follows.\n(2) In regulation 3(1) (interpretation) in the definition of “vehicle testing station” for the words “52(2) of the 1988 Act or such other place as he may consider appropriate for the purposes of carrying out an examination” substitute “52(2)(a) of the 1988 Act, or a premises designated for testing under section 52(2)(b) of that Act” .\n(3) In regulation 12 (manner of making application for first examinations or periodical tests, and fees)—\n(a) in the table in paragraph (3)—\n(i) in the heading in column 2 after the words “the Secretary of State” insert “under section 52(2)(a) of the 1988 Act”;\n(ii) in the heading in column 3 for the words “, at the applicant’s request, carried out at a vehicle testing station not provided by the Secretary of State” substitute “carried out at premises designated by the Secretary of State under section 52(2)(b) of the 1988 Act”;\n(b) in paragraph (5) for the words “which is not one provided by the Secretary of State” substitute “designated by the Secretary of State under section 52(2)(b) of the 1988 Act”.\n(4) In regulation 16(1) in the table—\n(a) in the heading in column 2 after the words “the Secretary of State” insert “under section 52(2)(a) of the 1988 Act”;\n(b) in the heading in column 3 for the words “, at the applicants request, carried out at a vehicle testing station not provided by the Secretary of State” substitute “carried out at premises designated by the Secretary of State under section 52(2)(b) of the 1988 Act”.",
