It is a locality where underground stone mining has caused actual and apprehended collapse of land. In derelict land clearance areas, the Secretary of State can pay grant under the Derelict Land Act 1982 (towards the cost of acquiring, surveying and carrying out works on land which is derelict, neglected or unsightly) at the higher rates applicable to development and intermediate areas under that Act.",
