# The Detergents (Amendment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019, Regulation 6

Extent: E+W+S+N.I.

(1) Article 2 is amended as follows.
(2) In paragraph 9—
(a) for “Union”, in the first place it occurs, substitute “ Great Britain ”;
(b) for “the Union customs territory”, substitute “ Great Britain ”.
(3) In paragraph 9a, for “Union”, substitute “ Great Britain ”.
(4) In paragraph 10, after “natural or legal person”, insert “ , established in Great Britain or Northern Ireland, ”.
(5) After paragraph 12, insert—
“
13 ‘Competent authority’ means the Secretary of State.
14 ‘Regulation (EU) 528/2012’ means Regulation (EU) No 528/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council concerning the making available on the market and use of biocidal products.
15 ‘the REACH Regulation’ means Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH), establishing a European Chemicals Agency.
16 ‘qualifying Northern Ireland goods’ has the meaning given to it from time to time in regulations made under section 8C(6) of the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018. ”.
