# The Development Board for Rural Wales (Area) Order 1996, Article 2: Interpretation and application


In the Order—
“the 1976 Act” means the Development of Rural Wales Act 1976; and
“existing area” means the area in Wales for which the Development Board for Rural Wales is responsible under section 1(2) of the 1976 Act immediately before the coming into force of this Order.
