# The Devon and Cornwall (Police Area and Authority) Order 1997, Article 1


(1) This Order may be cited as the Devon and Cornwall (Police Area and Authority) Order 1997.
(2) In this Order—
“1996 Act” means the Police Act 1996;
“transferred areas” means the City of Plymouth and Borough of Torbay.
(3) This Order, except article 3, shall come into force on 1st October 1997 and article 3 shall come into force on 1st April 1998.
