Explanatory note

Original text. Later amendments are not shown.

This Order, by revoking the Diplomatic Immunities Restriction Order 1956, as amended, removes restrictions on personal immunity from suit and legal process which were imposed on certain classes of persons connected with the envoys of the United States of America. After the coming into operation of this Order the enjoyment of immunity by these persons will be governed by the Diplomatic Privileges Act 1964.

All the other countries specified in the 1956 Order were deleted by previous amending Orders.
