# The Disclosure and Barring Service (Core Functions) Order 2012, Article 1: Citation, commencement, extent and interpretation

Extent: E+W

(1) This Order may be cited as the Disclosure and Barring Service (Core Functions) Order 2012 and comes into force on 1st December 2012.
(2) This Order extends to England and Wales.
(3) In this Order “the 1997 Act” means the Police Act 1997.
