  "text": "(This note is not part of the Rules)\nThese Rules which apply to England and Wales, amend the Distress for Rent Rules 1988 which relate to distress for rent and (by virtue of the modification effected by the Enforcement of Road Traffic Debts (Certificated Bailiffs) Regulations 1993) for debts under section 78 of the Road Traffic Act 1991.\nThese Rules clarify the amendments proposed by S.I. 2003/1858.\nFor levying distress a fixed fee of £21.65 will be payable on any debt up to and including £100.\nOn any debt which exceeds £100, a scale fee will apply as follows:\non the first £100 of that debt\n£21.65\non the next £100\n12½%\non the next £400\n4%\non the next £1,500\n2½%\non the next £8,000\n1%\nand on any additional sum\n¼%.",
