# The Dogs (Northern Ireland) Order 1983, Article 19: Penalty for obtaining dog before a licence is issued


Any person who takes possession of a dog in respect of which a dog licence is required by this Order before a licence has been issued shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding £200.
