# The Dogs (Northern Ireland) Order 1983, Article 48: Power to collect, and dispose of, unwanted dogs


(1) A district council may, at the request of the owner of an unwanted dog or his personal representative, arrange for the collection, and disposal, of that dog.
(2) No dog disposed of under this Article shall be given or sold for purposes of animal experimentation.
