  "text": "In article 8 (absent vote at Scottish parliamentary elections for an indefinite or a particular period)—\n(a) in paragraph (1) omit “(in either case, whether for an indefinite period or for a particular period specified in the application)”,\n(b) after paragraph (1) insert—\n“(1A) Any grant of an application under paragraph (1) is to be for—\n(a) the period ending with the third 31 January following the date on which the application is granted, or\n(b) any shorter period specified in the application.”,\n(c) in paragraph (4)—\n(i) omit sub-paragraph (a),\n(ii) in sub-paragraph (b), after “post,” insert “the periods for which they may do so and”,\n(iii) in sub-paragraph (c), after “proxy,” insert “whether the applications were to vote by proxy for an indefinite period or a particular period (specifying that period), and”,\n(d) at the end of paragraph (5)(d) omit “or”,\n(e) in paragraph (5)(e) omit “post or”,\n(f) after paragraph (5)(e)—\n(i) for the “.” substitute “, or”,\n(ii) insert—\n“(f) in the case of a person shown in the record as voting by post, once the period for which the person is entitled to vote by post has expired.”,\n(g) in paragraph (7) omit “(in either case, whether for an indefinite period or for a particular period)”,\n(h) after paragraph (7) insert—\n“(7A) Paragraph (1A) applies to an application under paragraph (7) to vote by post, as it applies to an application under paragraph (1).”,\n(i) in the heading omit “for an indefinite or a particular period”.",
