The adjusted amount is in accordance with arrangements made with the Fund pursuant to Resolution F/BG/2006/12 adopted by the Board of Governors of the Fund on 18th May 2006.

Draft Order laid before the House of Commons under section 11(5) of the International Development Act 2002 (c. 1), for approval by resolution of the House of Commons.

Coming into force
The Secretary of State makes this Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 11 (4) of the International Development Act 2002 (“the Act”) for the purposes of approving a payment under section 11 (3) of the Act.
Section 11 of the Act provides that where the Government of the United Kingdom becomes bound to make a relevant payment to a multilateral development bank the Minister may make the relevant payment and other associated payments specified in section 11(3).
In accordance with section 11 (4) of the Act, this Order is made with the approval of the Treasury.
In accordance with section 11 (5) of the Act, a draft of this Order has been laid before the House of Commons and approved by resolution of that House.

## 1 Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the African Development Fund (Multilateral Debt Relief Initiative) (Amendment) Order 2026 and comes into force on the day after the day on which it is made.

## 2 Amendment to the 2006 Order

In article 3 of the African Development Fund (Multilateral Debt Relief Initiative) Order 2006, for “£451.87 million” substitute “£508.07 million”.

This Order amends the African Development Fund (Multilateral Debt Relief Initiative) Order 2006 (S.I. 2006/2321) by increasing the amount that may be paid by the Secretary of State as additional contributions to the African Development Fund (the “Fund”) from £451.87 million to £508.07 million. The adjusted amount is in accordance with arrangements made with the Fund pursuant to Resolution F/BG/2006/12 adopted by the Board of Governors of the Fund on 18th May 2006.
An impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no impact on the private, public or voluntary sectors is foreseen.
