# The Bereaved Partner’s Paternity Leave Regulations 2026, Introduction: Introductory text


Draft Regulations laid before Parliament under section 236(3) of the Employment Rights Act 1996 (c. 18), for approval by resolution of each House of Parliament.

The Secretary of State makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 47C (1), (2) (ca) and (4), 80A (1) to (5) and (6A), 80B (1) to (4), (5), (6A) and (6C), 80C (1), (3), (6) and (7), 80D, 80E and 99 of the Employment Rights Act 1996.
In accordance with section 236 (3) of the Employment Rights Act 1996, a draft of the instrument was laid before Parliament and approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament.
