# The British Transport Police (Transitional and Consequential Provisions) Order 2004, Introduction: Introductory text


Draft Order laid before Parliament under section 74(3) of the Railways and Transport Safety Act 2003 c. 20, for approval by resolution of each House of Parliament.

Coming into force 1st July 2004
The Secretary of State, having consulted in accordance with paragraph 24(7) of Schedule 4 to the Railways and Transport Safety Act 2003, and in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by sections 73(2), (3) and (4) and 74(1) of, and paragraph 24 of Schedule 4 to, that Act, hereby makes the following Order, a draft of which has been laid before Parliament and approved by each House of Parliament:
