# The Census (Scotland) Amendment Order 2020, Note: Explanatory note


(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order is made under the Census Act 1920.
Article 2 amends the Census (Scotland) Order 2020 (“the principal Order”) by changing the date on which a census is to be taken from 21 March 2021 to 20 March 2022 and making further amendments to the principal Order which are consequential to that change.
