  "text": "(1) Where the Secretary of State has received an application for a variation the Secretary of State may request further information or evidence from the applicant to enable that application to be determined.\n(2) Any such information or evidence requested in accordance with paragraph (1) must be provided within 14 days after the date of notification of the request or such longer period as the Secretary of State is satisfied is reasonable in the circumstances of the case.\n(3) Where any information or evidence requested is not provided within the time specified in paragraph (2), the Secretary of State may, where able to do so, proceed to determine the application in the absence of the requested information or evidence.",
