# The Combined Authorities (Mayoral Elections) (Amendment) Order 2019, Introduction: Introductory text

Coming into force in accordance with regulation 1
The Minister for the Cabinet Office makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 114 and 117(1A) of, and paragraph 12(1)(a) and (b) and (2)(d) of Schedule 5B to, the Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Act 2009 (“the 2009 Act”).
The Minister for the Cabinet Office has consulted the Electoral Commission about this Order as required by paragraph 12(4) of Schedule 5B to the 2009 Act.
In accordance with section 117(2) of the 2009 Act, a draft of this Order has been laid before and approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament.
