  "heading": "Citation, extent and commencement",
  "text": "(1) This Order—\n(a) may be cited as the Combined Authorities (Mayoral Elections) (Amendment) Order 2026;\n(b) extends to England and Wales; and\n(c) comes into force the day after the day on which it is made.\n(2) This Order does not apply for the purposes of—\n(a) an election for the return of a combined authority mayor in accordance with Schedule 5B to the Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Act 2009, or\n(b) an election for the return of a combined county authority mayor in accordance with Schedule 2 to the Levelling-up and Regeneration Act 2023,\nin respect of which the notice of election is published before the date on which this Order comes into force.",
