# The Data Retention (EC Directive) Regulations 2007, Regulation 8: Supervisory authority


The Information Commissioner , as the Supervisory Authority designated for the purposes of Article 9 of Directive 2006/24/EC shall monitor the application of these Regulations with respect to the security of stored data.
