# The Diffuse Mesothelioma Payment Scheme Regulations 2014, Introduction: Introductory text


Draft Regulations laid before Parliament under section 17(2)(a) of the Mesothelioma Act 2014, for approval by resolution of each House of Parliament.

Coming into force in accordance with regulation 2
The Secretary of State makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 1 and section 17(4) of the Mesothelioma Act 2014.
In accordance with section 17(2)(a) of that Act, as these are the first regulations under section 1, a draft has been laid before Parliament and approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament.
