Article 3 Interpretation

(1)

In this Order—

  • “area” means an area which is—

    1. (a)

      in England, a district or London borough;

    2. (b)

      in Wales, a county or county borough;

    3. (c)

      in Scotland, a local government area;

    and which is specified in the Schedule;

  • “Lord President” means the Lord President of the Council.

(2)

In articles 4(1), (2) and (3) and 5(1) references to a person acting on the Lord President’s behalf are to a person appointed by the Lord President with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport and the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions.
