  "heading": "Interpretation: regulated facility and class of regulated facility",
  "text": "(1) In these Regulations, “regulated facility” means any of the following—\n(a) an installation;\n(b) mobile plant;\n(c) a waste operation;\n(d) a mining waste operation;\n(e) a radioactive substances activity;\n(f) a water discharge activity;\n(g) a groundwater activity;\n(h) a small waste incineration plant;\n(i) a solvent emission activity;\n(j) a flood risk activity.\n(2) But the following are not regulated facilities—\n(a) an exempt facility;\n(b) an excluded waste operation;\n(c) the disposal or recovery of household waste from a domestic property within the curtilage of that property by a person other than an establishment or undertaking;\n(d) an excluded flood risk activity.\n(3) In these Regulations, a reference to a class of regulated facility is a reference to a class in paragraph (1).\n(4) A regulated facility of any of the following classes may be carried on as part of the operation of a regulated facility of another class—\n(a) a waste operation;\n(b) a mining waste operation;\n(c) a water discharge activity;\n(d) a groundwater activity;\n(e) a small waste incineration plant;\n(f) a solvent emission activity;\n(g) a flood risk activity.",
