LOCAL GOVERNMENT, ENGLAND
Made ***
Coming into force in accordance with article 1(2), (3), (4) and (5)
Under section 58(4) of the Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Act 2009 (“the Act”), the Local Government Boundary Commission for England (“the Commission”) published a report dated July 2024 stating its recommendations for changes to the electoral arrangements for the county of Essex, which it gave effect to by making the Essex (Electoral Changes) Order 2024 under section 59(1) of the Act. This report was amended in January 2026.
The Commission is satisfied that mistakes have occurred in the preparation of that Order and that the mistakes are such that it cannot be rectified by a subsequent order under section 59(1) of the Act by virtue of section 14 of the Interpretation Act 1978.
The Commission makes the following Order in exercise of the power conferred by section 59(6) of the Act. A draft of this instrument has been laid before each House of Parliament, a period of forty days has expired since the day on which it was laid and neither House has resolved that the instrument be not made.
