The Department’s functions under the Credit Unions (Northern Ireland) Order 1985 are exercisable by the Department of Economic Development, which was renamed “the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment” by S.I. 1999/283 (N.I. 1) and is renamed “the Department for the Economy” by the Departments Act (Northern Ireland) 2016, section 1(3) and Schedule 1, paragraph 1(3).
