  "text": "(This note is not part of the Regulations)\nThese Regulations amend the maximum speed limit on roads which are not motorways for goods vehicles (known as HGVs) which have a maximum laden weight, or, if drawing a trailer, aggregate maximum laden weight, exceeding 7.5 tonnes.\nRegulation 2(2) amends Part 1 of schedule 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 for HGVs being driven in Scotland:\nby substituting a maximum speed limit of 60 mph for the current limit of 50mph on dual carriageway roads,\nby substituting a maximum speed limit of 50mph for the current limit of 40mph on other roads.\nRegulation 2(3) removes an existing amendment to the table in Part 1 of schedule 6 which had effect only in relation to certain specified lengths of road. Regulation 3 revokes the S.S.I. which made that amendment.",
