  "text": "(This note is not part of the Regulations)\nThese Regulations amend the Jobseeker’s Allowance Regulations 1996 (S.I. 1996/207) (“the Jobseeker’s Allowance Regulations”).\nIn particular, they extend the definition of “benefit” in regulation 17A(7) of the Jobseeker’s Allowance Regulations to include National Insurance credits for unemployment, and credits for persons aged 60 or over. The effect of this amendment is that periods in receipt of such credits may count towards the two year qualification period mentioned in regulation 17A(2) for the purposes of being treated as available for employment, and accordingly entitled to a jobseeker’s allowance, while participating in a qualifying course as defined in regulation 17A(7).",
