  "text": "(1) Section 210 of the Civil Partnership Act 2004 (registration at British consulates etc) is amended as follows.\n(2) In subsection (1)(b), for the words “a prescribed officer of Her Majesty’s Diplomatic Service” substitute “a registration officer”.\n(3) In subsection (3), for “An officer” substitute “A registration officer”.\n(4) After subsection (5) insert—\n“(6) “Registration officer” means—\n(a) a consular officer in the service of Her Majesty’s government in the United Kingdom, or\n(b) in the case of registration in a country in which Her Majesty’s government in the United Kingdom has for the time being no consular representative, a person authorised by the Secretary of State in respect of registration of civil partnerships in that country.”",
