# The Marine Licensing (Exempted Activities) (Scottish Inshore Region) Order 2011, Article 20: Maintenance of coast protection, drainage and flood defence works


(1) This article applies to an activity carried on by or on behalf of a local authority for the purpose of maintaining any—
(a) coast protection works;
(b) drainage works;
(c) flood defence works.
(2) This article is subject to the condition that the activity is carried on within the existing boundaries of the works being maintained.
(3) This article does not apply in relation to any beach replenishment.
