# The Merchant Shipping (Fire Protection) Regulations 2023, Paragraph 2: The Merchant Shipping (Fire Protection: Small Ships) Regulations 1998


In regulation 1(7)(b)—
(a) omit sub-paragraph (iv)(aa);
(b) at the end of sub-paragraph (vii), insert—
“;
(viii) ships of war, naval auxiliary ships or other ships owned or operated by a State and engaged only on governmental non-commercial service”.
