# The Nature Restoration Levy Regulations 2026, Regulation 27: Calculation of the outstanding amount


The “outstanding amount” of a relevant amount is the amount still to be paid calculated by applying the following formula—
A - P where—
A is the relevant amount specified in the liability notice;
P is the total sum of the adjusted payment amounts made to Natural England against the relevant amount.
