Article 1 Citation, commencement and interpretation

This Order may be cited as the Northern Ireland Assembly (Elections) (Amendment) Order 2010.

(2)

This Order comes into force on the day after the day on which it is made.

(3)

In this Order—

  • “1983 Act” means the Representation of the People Act 1983f1;

  • “2001 Order” means the Northern Ireland Assembly (Elections) Order 2001f2; and

  • “2008 Regulations” means the Representation of the People (Northern Ireland) Regulations 2008f3.

In this Order a reference to a “rule” is a reference to the Parliamentary elections rules or the relevant Parliamentary election rule contained in Schedule 1 to the 1983 Actf4.
