# Northern Ireland Assembly (Elections) Order 2001, Introduction: Introductory text


Draft Order laid before Parliament under section 96(2) of the Northern Ireland Act 1998 for approval by resolution of each House of Parliament.
NORTHERN IRELAND
Made 2001
Coming into force 2001
Whereas a draft of this Order has been approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament;
And whereas I have, in accordance with section 7(1) and (2)(h) of the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000, consulted the Electoral Commission about these Regulations;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 34(4) and 35(1) of the Northern Ireland Act 1998, I hereby make the following Order:—
