# The Official Statistics Order 2018, Introduction: Introductory text


Draft Order laid before Parliament under section 65(2) of the Statistics and Registration Service Act 2007, for approval by resolution of each House of Parliament.

Coming into force in accordance with article 1(2)
The Minister for the Cabinet Office makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 6(1)(b) and (2) of the Statistics and Registration Service Act 2007.
In accordance with section 6(3) of that Act, the Minister has consulted the Statistics Board.
In accordance with section 65(2) of that Act, a draft of this instrument was laid before Parliament and approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament.
