# The Opticians Act 1989 (Amendment) Order 2005, Paragraph 32: The General Optical Council Election Scheme 2001


In the General Optical Council Election Scheme 2001—
(a) for the words “ophthalmic optician”, wherever they occur, substitute “optometrist”;
(b) for the words “ophthalmic opticians”, wherever they occur, substitute “optometrists”; and
(c) in paragraph 3(i), for “ophthalmic or dispensing opticians” substitute “optometrists or dispensing opticians”.
