Article 9 Appointment etc. of the Registrar and any Deputy Registrar

The Council shall appoint a fit and proper person to be Registrar who shall perform the functions of the Registrar conferred on him by this Order, by rules under this Order, by any other enactment or by, or by virtue of, the Charter.

The Council may also appoint a Deputy Registrar.

The Council may pay, or make provision for the payment of, such remuneration, allowances, pension or gratuities as it determines to the Registrar or any Deputy Registrar.

The Council may terminate the appointment of the Registrar or any Deputy Registrar.

The Registrar may authorise a Deputy Registrar or any employee of the Society to act for him in any matter, and where he does so, a reference in this Order, in rules under this Order, in any other enactment or in the Charter or any instrument under the Charter to the Registrar, if it relates to that matter, shall include reference to the person so authorised.
