# The Registration of Marriages Regulations 2021, Paragraph 45: Amendment of Part 6 of the 1949 Act (general)


(1) Section 76 of the 1949 Act (offences relating to registration of marriages) is amended as follows.
(2) Omit subsection (2).
(3) In subsection (4)—
(a) omit “or subsection (2)”;
(b) in paragraph (a), omit “in the case of a fine imposed under subsection (1) of this section,”;
(c) omit paragraph (b), and the “and” preceding it.
(4) In subsection (5), for “either of the said subsections” substitute “subsection (1)”.
