# The Scottish Parliament (Elections etc.) Order 2007, Article 87: Dissolution of Parliament: minimum period


The “minimum period” for the purpose of section 2(3) of the 1998 Act (ordinary general elections) is a period of 21 days, computed in accordance with rule 3 of the Scottish Parliamentary Election Rules.
