# The Surrender of Offensive Weapons (Compensation) Regulations 2020, Regulation 8: Receipt for surrender of firearms or ancillary equipment


(1) An officer receiving a firearm or ancillary equipment must, if satisfied that the relevant requirements of regulation 7 are satisfied, issue a receipt containing a unique reference number to the person who surrendered the firearm or ancillary equipment.
(2) The officer must ensure that a copy of the receipt is retained with the firearm or ancillary equipment surrendered.
