  "text": "For Article 18 substitute—\n“Article 18\nApproval\n1. The Secretary of State may approve bodies to carry out third-party conformity assessment tasks under this Regulation.\n2. The Secretary of State may not approve a body to carry out third-party conformity assessment tasks under paragraph 1 unless satisfied the body meets the criteria specified in Article 22.\n3. Where a body demonstrates its conformity with applicable designated standards or parts thereof, it shall be presumed to meet the requirements set out in Article 22 insofar as the applicable designated standards cover those requirements.\n4. The Secretary of State must—\n(a) assign an approved body identification number to each approved body;\n(b) compile and maintain a register of approved bodies containing in relation to each body—\n(i) the approved body identification number,\n(ii) details of the activities for which the body is approved, and\n(iii) any restrictions on the activities for which the body is approved.\n5. The register referred to in paragraph 2 must be made publicly available.”.",
